Here, Sabbath is a reminder of God's rescuing his people from slavery 'with a mighty hand' so is not only a memorial of Creation but also of redemption, which of course, is all God's doing.

Re: We Are Sabbath, Part II: An Event Worth Celebrating

Thank you. It's not just that the traditions are bad - in fact, many of them are quite good. But we should never settle for the merely good - we must always pursue the great!

Re: We Are Sabbath, Part II: An Event Worth Celebrating

Another comment--please send this to Adventist Review. I think it is worth publishing and they should accept it. I would suggest sending it to Roy Adams. Although he will pass it on with others for screening, it might give him chance to see it first.

Re: We Are Sabbath, Part II: An Event Worth Celebrating

Travis,
This was just beautiful--I don't think I have heard a better description of Sabbath. I am sincerely touched by these inspirational thoughts on the meaning of Sabbath.
